The original vase was created from a single block of andesite porphyry and contains dozens of crystal inclusions. The age is quite evident on this piece. At some point after it was made, it was broken and masterfully pieced back together. The reconstruction is only noticeable by looking at the inside, or with the aid of UV lighting. The CT scan captured the inside beautifully. 

The limited edition 3D print is 1:1 size of the original vase. This piece is extremely unique, and has excellent size. It takes approximately 11 hours to print one replica.  Dus to the reconstruction and the relatively thin walls, it is a beautiful and unique print.
